Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting background to the Cambodia casinos that lie just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which casino betting is not legal. Eight casinos are anchored in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect spot, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; still, financial sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are allegedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau casino, contains 150 slots and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machines and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel building that highlights many amenities in addition to the gambling hall, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight table games.
